Robert Datnow, Director
Robert leads our event strategy, bidding and implementation team consulting for venues and city and regional government clients. Even before helping on the Aldershot side to broker the British Olympic Association’s pre-Olympic preparation camp at Aldershot for the London 2012 Games, Robert had unique experience of pre-Games training with the BOA’s Gold Coast training camp prior to the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Before setting up The Sports Consultancy with Angus, Robert’s background was in sports law as commercial sports partner at a major international law firm. Previously Olympic team lawyer for the British team and chief executive of a global sports charity Robert has combined his professional skills and sports knowledge on projects such as the London 2012 Olympic bid, the America’s Cup, the Volvo Ocean Race and the Tour de France. When Robert’s not strategising for event bidders and facilities he’s out pounding the streets, clocking up the middle distance training miles to scrape a few 10ths off his 800m time for the GB masters team.

Angus Buchanan, Director
Like Robert, Angus is a lawyer by training. Angus heads up our brand and rights holder consultancy. He established a successful rights holder consultancy in 2000 and is proud to to have been advising clients like Volvo since 2002 in the development of their sports events and creating ground-breaking sponsorships such as Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean in the Volvo Ocean Race. Angus started out at the sharp end of sport as youngest crew member on Sir Peter Blake and Sir Robin Knox-Johnston’s world record breaking non-stop circumnavigation of the world in 1994.

Lucy Caillé, Senior Consultant
Lucy has been planning and implementing highly successful sponsorship campaigns in a wide range of sports ranging from distance running and football to motorsports for corporate clients such as Flora, Egg and Computacenter since 1993. Lucy is now responsible for our sponsorship activation and integration, working with clients like AMD on their sponsorship of Scuderia Ferrari. Lucy is happiest spending her spare time serving aces on a grass court or mogul bashing in the Alps.
