Multi award-winning Scottish gin distillery Edinburgh Gin has come on board as presenting sponsor of Hogmanay’s famous ceilidh, which, under new event organisers Underbelly on behalf of City of Edinburgh Council, has moved from outside St Giles’ Cathedral off the Royal Mile to Princes Street Gardens under Edinburgh Castle.

Ceilidh under the Castle is part of the city’s world famous New Year celebrations, Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, which in its 25th year sees the 3 day festival revamped, refreshed and better than ever before.

Ceilidh under the Castle with Edinburgh Gin offers those looking to enjoy a traditional Scottish ceilidh the opportunity to do so in the midst of Scotland’s world-leading New Year celebrations. New Year revellers will be able to enjoy the finest Edinburgh Gin while also enjoying the best ceilidh bands from across Scotland, which will be announced later this week, and world-class callers to keep the dancers reeling long into the night. It is a wonderful experience whether you are a dyed in the wool Scot or a visitor from a far-flung place. In its new location at the foot of Castle Rock those dancing the night away under Edinburgh’s famous castle will also be part of the midnight fireworks moment in one of the most beautiful spots in Edinburgh.

Tickets for Ceilidh under the Castle with Edinburgh Gin are £50 and are on sale now. The Ceilidh kicks off at 8.30pm on 31 December, Hogmanay, and finishes at 1am on New Year’s Day. Tickets are available at edinburghshogmanay.com

Edinburgh Gin’s partnership with Edinburgh’s Hogmanay 2018 was brokered, on behalf of Underbelly, by The Sports Consultancy.
Charlie Wood and Ed Bartlam, Directors of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay said, “Edinburgh Gin is a fantastic gin and we have no doubt everyone at the Ceilidh will love it, but it’s also a great brand with a modern, contemporary and fresh feel – exactly like Edinburgh’s Hogmanay. We are delighted they have chosen to support the Ceilidh under the Castle and look forward to a great night!”

“The world comes to Edinburgh at Hogmanay so we’re thrilled that Edinburgh Gin will help festival goers celebrate Britain’s biggest party. We’re looking forward to raising a gin on the evening and celebrating with people from across the globe”, said Edinburgh Gin’s Neil Mowat, Marketing Director, Ian Macleod Distillers.
