In March 2008 The Sports Consultancy advised the Virgin Group on their negotiation with the London Marathon to secure title sponsorship of this historic London event. We are delighted that five years on Virgin has extended that partnership in an agreement that will see Virgin Money, the banking division of the Virgin Group, retain its title sponsorship until at least 2017.

From 2014, the race will be known as the Virgin Money London Marathon. A new race logo has also been designed to accompany the name change.

Virgin Money first took the title sponsor role in 2010 with the aim of helping competitors raise £250 million for charity in five years. In the first three years of the deal, runners have managed to raise over £150 million.
