The Sports Consultancy organised two workshops at their offices for 25 young people from Football Beyond Borders (FBB) as part of the ‘Architects of the Future’ program which aims to introduce careers in the sport business to young people.
The TSC FBB partnership is part of TSC’s Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion program, that aims to help increase diversity in the sport business by opening the doors to communities that don’t currently have access, such as young people from areas of socio-economic disadvantage.
Throughout 2024, two groups of year nine students from schools in North and South London were able to experience, hands on, life in a global sport business consultancy firm.
TSC organised a bespoke workshop to introduce the commercial side of sport and how to approach solving real life problems. The young people were tasked to design their dream football club, including purchasing a stadium, signing a first team squad, and securing a sponsor which best aligns with the clubs’ values.
During the workshops, TSC staff from different career stages engaged with the participants, giving them a taste of the type of work that TSC does. The young people were then tasked with delivering an on-site presentation of their activity. One of the outcomes included the idea development of an app that will deliver positive change.
The next stage of the partnership includes the provision of mentorship from members of TSC staff, building towards work experience for FBB participants in the future.
