Southwark Council have announced last week that the Castle Leisure Centre has opened its doors to the public. The Sports Consultancy have provided a number of services to Southwark Council relating to this new centre including financial business planning and management of the operator procurement process.

The new £20million centre is funded by the Council’s local regeneration programme and features a 25 metre six-lane swimming pool, learner pool with moveable floor, sauna, steam rooms, a sports hall, fully equipped gym and dedicated spinning studio, two exercises studios plus a crèche and café. The state of the art centre also boasts full disabled access and is fitted with specialist equipment throughout. The pilot offer of free swimming and gym access available for residents in the Borough aged 18 and under and over 60 will also be available at The Castle Centre in addition to a pilot scheme for disabled Southwark residents that will be available seven days a week.
