INTERKULTUR, the world’s leading organiser of international choir competitions and festivals, is delighted to announce the launch of the host city bidding process for the next editions of the World Choir Games.
In recognition of increased interest from potential hosts, and the increasing value of the World Choir Games, INTERKULTUR have chosen to partner again with The Sports Consultancy, globally recognised as leaders in host city procurement processes for a range of major sporting and entertainment properties, to run a structured bid process for the fifth time. Together, they have worked to enhance the event model, calculate the economic impact, and create an innovative and collaborative bid process to find future hosts for this prestigious event. The bidding process launched on Friday 12th May, when The Sports Consultancy invited targeted cities to express their interest.
The World Choir Games, launched in 2000 and hosted during the summer, is the pinnacle of international competition for amateur choral singers and attracts approximately 15,000 vocalists from more than 70 countries around the world.
Attending the two-week festival along with family and friends, the event has delivered an economic impact of up to $50M for previous hosts which include; Cincinnati, USA, Shaoxing, China and Flanders, Belgium. For these cities, staging the World Choir Games has enabled them to showcase their artistic venues and the vibrant life of their city, creating a stage on which to share their culture with a young, global audience and promote inclusivity within their community.
