Two sports, same problem, different magnitude….Formula 1 and Rugby Guiness Premiership are both consulting with their respective sports governing bodies to discuss ways in which they reduce salaries. Formula One salaries reach up to £35 million with a number of drivers over £10 million per annum. Premiership Rugby pales by comparison with over salary caps at £4m per season. Both sports are looking at ways of reducing their costs dramatically as they face a new recessionary environment.
